# Properties in Innovate

## Properties help participants describe, develop, and evaluate ideas in a more structured way.

Properties are additional pieces of information connected to a contribution.

They can be used to:

- Evaluate ideas
- Collect supplementary information
- Create a stronger basis for analysis
- Visualize ideas in matrices

### Slider

Use a slider when participants should evaluate something on a scale.

Examples:

- Impact
- Feasibility
- Uniqueness

When several slider properties are used, the ideas can be visualized in a matrix.

### Text

Use text properties to collect short pieces of supplementary information.

Examples:

- Responsible function
- Target audience
- Area concerned

### Rich text

Rich text allows participants to develop their reasoning in greater detail.

Participants can, for example:

- Write longer descriptions
- Insert images
- Create tables
- Structure information

### Can properties be added later?

Yes. You can add properties both before and after creating the activity.

This allows you to collect ideas first and then invite participants to evaluate or develop them further.

### Tip

Start with a simple setup and add properties once you know which additional information you need to collect.
