# Add voting options

## The voting options form the foundation of a successful prioritization. Learn how to create options that are clear, relevant, and easy for participants to understand.

When creating a Prioritize activity, you need to specify which options participants should evaluate or vote on.

### Create your own options

Select **Add** to create new voting options manually.

### What makes a good voting option?

Good voting options are:

- Clear
- Specific
- Easy to understand

The options should also be sufficiently distinct from one another so participants can easily understand the differences between them.

### Avoid

- Unclear wording
- Overly long descriptions
- Options that overlap with one another

### Tip

If the options come from an earlier Innovate or Explore activity, it is often better to import them directly rather than rewrite them manually.
