Voting types in Voceans Prioritize
Prioritize offers three voting methods: Select, Dot voting, and Prioritize. The right method depends on the type of decision or prioritization you want participants to support.
When creating a Prioritize activity, you can choose between three voting types.
Type 1: Select
Participants receive a specific number of votes that they can use across the available options.
Example
If there are five options and each participant receives two votes, each participant can select two of the five options.
Useful when you want to:
- Identify the most popular options
- Prioritize options quickly
- Engage a large number of participants
Type 2: Dot voting
Participants receive a number of points that they can distribute freely across the available options.
Example
If each participant receives ten points, the points could be distributed as follows:
- Option A: 5 points
- Option B: 3 points
- Option C: 2 points
Useful when you want to:
- Understand the strength of participants’ priorities
- Compare several options
- Simulate the distribution of resources or a budget
Type 3: Prioritize
Participants rank the available options in relation to one another.
Example
If there are five options and each participant can choose three, each participant creates a personal top-three ranking.
Useful when you want to:
- Create clear rankings
- Identify the most important initiatives
- Support strategic decisions
