Analysis types in Flow

Choose an analysis type based on what you want to understand in the collected material. Each analysis examines contributions from a particular perspective.

The Analyze tab contains several analysis types that can be used separately or combined in the same analysis view.

Insight report

Use an Insight report when you want an overall analysis of the collected material.

Pattern analysis

Use Pattern analysis when you want to examine recurring patterns and themes in the contributions.

Prioritization analysis

Use Prioritization analysis when you want to explore what appears important to focus on or develop further.

Needs analysis

Use Needs analysis when you want to identify and structure needs expressed in the material.

Common ground and differences

Use Common ground and differences when you want to investigate where perspectives align and where they differ.

Feasibility analysis

Use Feasibility analysis when you want to examine the material from an implementation perspective.

Deviation analysis

Use Deviation analysis when you want to identify content that differs from the broader patterns in the material.

Risk analysis

Use Risk analysis when you want to identify and examine risks found in the contributions.

AI question

Use AI question when you want to formulate a custom question and analyze the material based on a specific need.

Combine analysis types

You can add several analyses to the same analysis view.

One possible approach is to begin with an Insight report and then add a more focused analysis, such as:

  • Needs analysis
  • Prioritization analysis
  • Risk analysis

Tip:
Avoid adding analyses without a clear purpose. A smaller number of relevant analyses often produces a more useful analysis view than many overlapping analyses.
